A man has been arrested after a deadly shooting in Maryvale.

Phoenix police said Isiah McClure, 25, was arrested for his role in the shooting.

Phoenix police were called to 55th Avenue and Clarendon on Thursday morning for a report of a shooting.

When police arrived on the scene they found a 22-year-old man and 21-year-old woman with gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Officers determined McClure was inside the home and police attempted to get him out.

According to Phoenix police, the suspect refused and the SWAT team was called in to help and McClure was eventually taken into custody.

Phoenix police said the investigation shows the female victim was visiting the home when an altercation happened. The victim called for the male victim to pick her up and the shooting occurred.

Two children, a five-year-old and three-year-old were in the back seat of the victim's car when the shooting occurred.

McClure is alleged to have shot both victims before going inside the house.

McClure has been booked into jail and is facing 1st degree murder charges.
