PHOENIX — A 24-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 10, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Around 3 a.m. Wednesday, DPS dispatchers began receiving reports of a vehicle speeding and traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, said Bart Graves, spokesperson for DPS.
People reported that the vehicle had one headlight out and one person said he or she was sideswiped by the vehicle, DPS said.
A DPS trooper was able to stop the vehicle near 43rd Avenue, where the driver, identified as Viviana Maria-Suarez, of Phoenix, was arrested. She was booked into jail on counts of aggravated DUI with a suspended license, driving the wrong way, endangerment, and false reporting to law enforcement.
