A man was taken to the hospital where he died after a crash on Southern Avenue just after noon Friday.
Phoenix police said the man died after being involved in a serious two-vehicle crash on Southern Avenue that closed the road between 20th and 24th streets, which later reopened.
Police say the man who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling southbound on 22nd Place when he didn't yield as he entered eastbound Southern Avenue.
The truck then hit a 2005 Ford pick-up truck that was driven by a 19-year-old man.
The 19-year-old suffered minor injuries. The 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said the 19-year-old driver was not impaired, and speed does not appear to have played a factor in the crash.
The investigation is on-going.
