A fender-bender turned into a shooting that could have been deadly, a Phoenix woman said.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, said a car rear-ended her Thursday at 43rd and Sweetwater avenues.

When the other driver took off, she followed him into a neighborhood to try to get his insurance information, she said. That's when the other driver stopped, pointed a gun at her car, and fired, she said.

“It’s just scary that yesterday, that could have been it,” she said.

She crashed as she sped away from the man. He drove off.

"If he would do that to me over something so small, he could do that to anybody, and he won't miss next time,” the woman said.

She originally followed him because she does not make much money and could not afford to pay for the car repairs herself, she said.

The man was in a light-colored, four-door sedan, she said.

“I definitely think he was trying to kill me,” she said.

Phoenix police were not immediately able to comment on the case Friday night.

The victim asks that anyone with information contact police.
