A Glendale man's attempt to steal medical supplies from Fry's Pharmacy failed when he fell through the ceiling.

Court documents show that 36-year-old Nathan Todd Daugherty was charged this week after the October incident that took place at the store near Tatum Boulevard and Bell Road.

It was just past midnight on Oct. 12 when two night workers at Fry's saw Daugherty fall through the ceiling near the pharmacy area.

Police say a pair of bolt cutters and a backpack fell near Daugherty and inside the backpack was more than $6,000 worth of diabetes test strips.

Fry's says the test strips can no longer be used.

In an interview with police, Daugherty said he wasn't sure what he would do with the test strips.

Daugherty was released from prison in 2013 after serving five years for burglary and theft.

He now faces charges of burglary, criminal damage and possession of burglary tools.
