A Phoenix man was arrested for using a bike lock cable to whip a man who accused him of using the same cable to hit passing cars.

According to court documents, 40-year-old Malcolm Shawn Stewart was spotted using a bicycle lock cable to strike cars driving driving down the road on Jan. 30 near 7th Street and Bethany Home Road.

Police said one man, whose car was hit, confronted Stewart. That's when Stewart swung the cable, striking the victim in the forehead and in the back, causing him to bleed.

When the victim ran into a nearby Circle K, Stewart gave chase and used the cable to destroy the store's glass door, officials said. The victim and store customers fled the building.

Stewart was later apprehended by police. He is now faces charges of aggravated assault and criminal damage.
