People living in a northwest Phoenix neighborhood are fed up with a string of thefts.

Renee Phillips’ security cameras captured two thieves rifling through her van and getting away with a cell phone, briefcase and hard drive full of personal information.

“You work hard for what you have and people don’t respect it,” Phillips said, frustrated with her losses. “When I posted it on NextDoor at least eight other people that same night had their vehicles rifled through.”

A few blocks away, Seth Darnell lost more than $1,000 in power tools from his garage after thieves broke into his wife’s car to get the garage door opener.

“You feel violated, of course, someone came in to your private space and took your things,” Darnell said.

Both neighbors filed police reports. So far, no suspects.
