Phoenix police say a passenger who ran from a crash scene later fell off a pedestrian bridge near Union Hills Road onto the SR 51 late Friday night.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. when a driver, who was believed to be impaired, crashed into a parked car. The driver was processed for DUI and later released.
A passenger from that car, also believed to be impaired, ran from the scene.
Police say the man tried to climb the SR 51 pedestrian bridge near Union Hills Road but fell onto the freeway.
Luckily the man was not hit by any cars. With the help of the Department of Public Safety, police were able to get to the man and he was transported to the hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Police have not said what the man will be charged with, if anything.
