We're now on day four of the freeze and it's taking a toll on home heating systems.
Between that and pipe problems, business has more than tripled for Precision Air and Heating over the last few days.
Technicians are putting in long days to turn the heat back on for families across the Valley.
North Phoenix homeowner Terri Piccirillo said her family bundled up under layers of blankets to stay warm Monday night.
She said her heater has been blowing hot and then cold air.
She's having a hard time keeping it above 60 degrees so she called in Steve Kipp with Precision Air and Heating to check it out.
Kipp said her defroster needs to be fixed and because so many other homeowners are having the same problem, it's going to take four days to get the part in.
On top of that, it's going to cost Piccirillo more than $450.
Kipp said he's been getting a lot of calls for broken defrosters and heat pumps that aren't working properly.
He said heat pumps have a hard time heating when it's this cold.
He recommends setting your thermostat to a comfortable temperature and keeping it constant.
He also recommends getting your unit serviced once a year to fix any little problems before it gets cold.
He said it will cost you upfront, but could save your hundreds even thousands of dollars in the end.
