Two kittens have been adopted after they were rescued from an attic and wall Monday night at a Phoenix home.

Phoenix fire crews responded to a house after a woman called 911 to say she could hear "cat-like sounds, meowing."

After crews checked for the sounds, they found one kitten in the attic and the other in a wall of the house.

A firefighter used saws to get into the wall and rescue the second kitten, Phoenix fire officials said.

Crews said they believe the kittens' mother gave birth in the attic, and something happened to prevent her from returning to her kittens.

The homeowner does not own any cats.

Phoenix fire crews said the kittens are doing well and have been adopted.
