For many, putting up Christmas decorations around this time of year is tradition. As you reach for the boxed up Christmas Tree, lights and lawn decorations; however, a local snake removal company is warning you to also keep an eye out for rattlesnakes.

"We definitely have an uptick. Normally this time of year I get 1-2 calls a day.  Right now I'm getting 3-4 calls a day," said Bryan Hughes, owner of Rattlesnake Solutions.

Hughes says most of the time the snakes are coiled up in garages, along the side walls, or in corners.

The good news, Hughes says, the snakes often leave behind tell tale tracks, or snake tracks.

"Imagine a garden hose being pulled through your garage. That's what it looks like. If you see dust that is moved, leaves that have moved or cobwebs broken up along that track, you should be careful," said Hughes.

He also said a good sign of snake activity in your garage could be the presence of rodent droppings, which could attract the snakes. Or snake droppings themselves.

"It looks like bird poop, white and black just like bird poop on the ground instead of dropping from above," said Hughes.
