Thirteen canines with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office are being fitted with ballistic vests for protection when going on patrol with their handlers.
At 3 p.m., Sheriff Joe Arpaio will be holding a press conference to discuss the donation of the vests.
The program to equip the on-patrol canines was courtesy of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc, MCSO said.
The dogs receiving the ballistics vests include bite and bomb dogs.
