Ringing in the new year is supposed to be a big celebration and fun.

Getting pulled over for drunk driving or worse--causing a deadly car crash--is not.

That's why Valley Metro and Coors Light have extended hours and are offering free rides to party-goers on New Year's Eve.

The Light Rail will run until 2 a.m. with trains coming every 10 to 20 minutes. Buses will run their normal weekday scheduled with a few in Tempe running on extended hours.

Valley Metro will also have its Dial-A-Ride service operating for those individuals with special needs.
