A U.S. Marine is back home in the Valley after a deployment to Asia that included a stint in South Korea.
The homecoming happened as North Korea tested another missile, and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson denounced the country’s nuclear program.

LCpl James Shelley said he and his fellow Marines knew of the developing situation, but did not dwell on it.

“We just kind of try not to worry about it too much, because you never know what's going to happen,” Shelley said Friday afternoon at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Shelley’s family welcomed him with hugs, balloons, and signs.  They also wished him a happy birthday; Shelley celebrated his 20th birthday Friday.
