A suspected thief is caught on camera moments before a home break-in and burglary.

It happened in the area of the I-17 and Jomax in Phoenix Friday afternoon.

A suspected thief is caught on camera moments before a home break-in and burglary.

Homeowner Lisa Manning says she knew something wasn’t right when she saw the man acting suspiciously, looking around, and zipping up his shirt where he appeared to be hiding something underneath.

When she got home, her back screen was cut and her security door was bent.

The thief made off with about $5,000 worth of property, including a gun, ammunition, a laptop, and jewelry.

“He just didn’t look right. He didn’t have any badges on like selling cable, he just looked suspicious in the way he moved and acted," Manning said. "It scared me, and I just got an instinct that something’s not right.”

After filing a police report, Manning showed the video to several neighbors, who said they saw the same man knocking on several doors in the neighborhood.

Manning also posted fliers to warn her neighborhood.

"It’s scary. You can tell by the quietness of the street, people are at work. And you hear on the news all the time that people knock to see if you’re home, and if you don’t answer, they come in. So that’s one of the reasons why I got that Ring doorbell,” Manning said.

"Ring" happens to be a Valley-based company. It recently expanded and has been featured on the hit show "Shark Tank." We've even seen some Valley police agencies praise the product.
