It's the busiest time of year for travel at Phoenix Sky Harbor. The airport expects to see an average of 140,000 people pass through--30 percent more than usual.

You would think it's the holidays by the amount of people traveling. For some, it kind of is!

For the past ten years, the Aguilar family makes travels from Oakland, Calif. to watch their baseball team in Spring Training.

"We are obviously here for the Giants. Go giants! 2016 is our year again, right" said Candy Aguilar, who traveled with her family of six.

The increase in travelers is coming from people coming through for spring break, as well as spring training.

"There's a huge amount of people here, so it's really crowded," said Linda Slay, who traveled from Eustace, Texas to watch the Texas Rangers in action.

Outside, the long line of cars passing through the "arrivals" gates made it look like rush hour traffic.

"This airport is definitely way busier than [the one in] Kentucky, for sure," said Bryeanna Kelley, who was returning home to Phoenix after a line dancing competition.

Phoenix Sky Harbor advises travelers to arrive at least two hours early, and three hours early for international travel. They advise travelers to check flight status before arriving and to check in to their flights online.

The busiest days of the week are expected to be Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays this month, but travelers should expect every day to be busy.

The airport will be even busier March 11-13 for the Good Sam 500 NASCAR race.
