Schilling has been a vocal supporter of Trump in recent years.
He recently discussed on a radio station that he was considering a run for congress in Arizona, in hopes of replacing a seat currently held by a democrat.
President trump tweeted Tuesday morning that the news of his consideration was "Terrific!"
Trump also voiced his support for Schilling earlier this year when Schilling was on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot. However, Schilling was not voted in.
Curt Schilling deserves to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Great record, especially when under pressure and when it mattered most. Do what everyone in Baseball knows is right! @marklevinshow
