A woman waiting in the car at a Phoenix gas station is lucky to be OK after a man got in the driver's seat and tried to drive away.
According to police paperwork, officers were called to the Circle K at 15th Avenue and McDowell Road around 9 a.m. last Friday after reports of a fight in the parking lot.
Police learned that the victim was waiting for her husband who had gone into the gas station when a man got into the driver's seat. Fortunately, the woman's husband saw what has happening, ran outside and tried to pull the man out of the seat.
The suspect had time to put the car in reverse and slammed into a sign.
Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Carlos Manuel R. Moreno.
He was arrested on three felony charges including car theft, kidnapping and aggravated criminal damage.
