A man was hit by a truck Thursday morning and taken to the hospital.
Phoenix police said the man's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The man was crossing the street mid-block near 24th Street and Van Buren and was not in the cross-walk, said police. The driver of the truck told police he looked away from the roadway toward a side street for a moment to make sure another motorist was going to stop and not hit him.
When the driver looked back, the pedestrian was in the roadway.
The driver stayed on scene. The crash is under investigation.
