PHOENIX — Phoenix police say there is no threat to the public after investigating an "item of concern" near 5th Street and Bethany Home Road Friday morning.
Officials say several businesses, including a school, were asked to shelter in place during what police initially described as an "incident." Anyone not in the area was asked to stay away.
Bethany Home Road was also closed between 7th Street and Central Avenue.
Police said late Friday morning that an investigation found no threat or danger to the community regarding the item.
The area has since reopened.
