Three teenagers were arrested Sunday for allegedly shooting at cars with a slingshot, but the incidents were not related to a recent string of Phoenix-area freeway shootings, authorities said.
One of the three teens, Aaron Nottingham, tells ABC15 he was just the driver in the car they were in and he doesn't condone what his friends did.
"I was sitting in the seat and one of my buddies started chuckling. Then he pulled out the slingshot and started shooting out the window." Nottingham said. "We're just three teenagers being dumb."
Nottingham claims they weren't trying to copy the I-10 shooter or scare anyone.
