A Phoenix man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 20-year-old mentally-challenged man.

Police say the investigation began back in February when 50-year-old William Patrick Unger lured the man into the back seat of his car and assaulted him.

The incident happened outside a group home where the victim lived. The man told staff who then contacted police.

Records say two members of the group home saw the activity in the car, but thought the two were playing.

Unger drove away from the scene, but was located six weeks later.

Court paperwork says he initially denied any sexual contact with the man, but later admitted to it, but said the victim was the aggressor.

In April, documents say Unger failed to show up for his court-ordered polygraph and DNA tests.

He was eventually found by police on December 29 near 33rd Avenue and Van Buren. He was booked into jail on sexual assault and kidnapping. His bond was set at $100,000.
