An armed homeowner confronted a suspect who entered his home around 6 p.m. on December 16th.

Court documents show that 38-year-old Felipe Leonardo Federic entered through the front door of a home near 40th Street and Van Buren Road.

Federic was confronted by the armed homeowner who told him to leave. The victim held Federic at gunpoint until police arrived.

Police say they found a bicycle and a backpack belonging to the suspect outside of the home. Inside the backpack they found pliers and bolt cutters.

Police say Federic has prior convictions for trespassing and now faces charges of criminal trespassing sand possession of burglary tools.
