Boarding of a flight to El Paso, Texas, was halted at Sky Harbor International Airport so mechanics could check out a report of smoke inside the aircraft.

Spokeswoman Julie Rodriguez says firefighters found no smoke when they responded Monday morning. She says passengers aboard the aircraft disembarked through the walkway into a Terminal Four concourse.

American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein says the aircraft was American Eagle Flight 5594 operated by Mesa Airlines. and that it was during boarding that the incident occurred.
