Two officers were involved in a crash in west Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Phoenix Police spokesperson, a patrol unit was involved in a crash near 67th Avenue and Broadway Road.

Officials say the vehicle, which was carrying two officers at the time, was responding to a call for back up for an unrelated situation when it was involved in the crash. Both officers were treated for minor injuries.

Officials say the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash did remain on the scene and was evaluated for impairment, but showed no signs of driving under the influence.

Officials say the officer who was driving the patrol unit has been with the department for eight years.

The Phoenix Fire Department said one officer was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The crash is still under investigation.
