Want to light up? Not at these Valley locations

Smokers will need to think twice before lighting up in Maricopa County.

Starting Wednesday, all county owned/leased buildings will go tobacco-free.

The county says the ban includes all buildings, sidewalks, walkways and parking lots. There will also no longer be designated smoking areas or ashtrays.  County parks are excluded from the policy.

The ban is for all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.

The county is joining several other governmental agencies and universities that have adopted a similar program to help smokers quit.
