Police are investigating after a man was reportedly assaulted and robbed while walking near a bus stop in the area of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
According to information at the scene near 40th and Van Buren streets, a man was reportedly jumped by another late Wednesday night.
The suspect assaulted the victim, stole his wallet and ran off to a nearby parking lot where a woman was waiting in a car.
The victim told police the car hit a tree during the escape but managed to take off anyway.
Police say the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
All involved parties reportedly knew each other.
