The Phoenix Police Department says 20-year-old Danny Leo has been arrested for a hit and run that happened Saturday afternoon near 32nd Street and Roosevelt Road.

Witnesses tell police that before a pedestrian was hit, there was an argument and a gunshot heard in the area.

Witnesses told police that when the victim was hit it looked like an intentional act and not an accident.

Police say the pedestrian that was hit is still in critical condition as of Sunday morning.

The suspect left the scene, and was found at a nearby apartment complex. The suspect tried to run on foot from police, but was quickly apprehended.

Police say based on witness testimony and evidence gathered, they’ve developed probable cause that this was an intentional act.

Leo has been booked for aggravated assault.
