Ashton, a sweet dog who lost both of his eyes due to severe trauma, has found his fur-ever home, according to the Arizona Humane Society.

Both of Ashton's eyes were severely injured and had popped out of their sockets, leaving the 2-year-old stray dog unable to see.

Fortunately, when he was found near 35th Avenue and Encanto Blvd., Emergency Animal Medical Technicians with the Arizona Humane Society rushed him into surgery.

Veterinarians found that one of his eyes had been injured for a while, but the other injury was recent. They had no choice but to remove both eyes in order to keep Ashton healthy.

Medical staff has been helping Ashton get used to life as a blind dog, but even with his struggles, the humane society says he hasn't strayed from his determined, spirited ways.
