One Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA staff member is going the extra mile to get one of their long-time residents adopted.

According to AAWL, Whitney Steele, a department director, is now locked in a kennel 24 hours a day until the pup, Lana, gets a home of her own. They're tagging the sit-in mission with "#FreeLana" on social media.

Lana is a 4-year-old bull mastiff mix who AAWL says is great with kids, basic commands, leash walking and love. She needs to find a home with no other pets.

Lana has reportedly been in the shelter for four months, and while some pets can adjust better than others, Lana is having a hard time.

The shelter posted to Facebook late Thursday night that her adoption fee is waived.

If you're interested in bringing Lana home to your family, head down to AAWL located near 40th Street and Washington.
