Adoptable pets from Arizona Humane Society and Maricopa County Animal Care (2/10/2021)
Yukie is a 5-year-old male Chihuahua. Before coming to the Arizona Humane Society, Yukie had a hard life, and he has some lingering medical concerns as a result. One of AHS' Emergency Animal Medical Technicians rescued the tiny tick-covered dog back in October after discovering his previous owner had failed to provide proper medical care. He was immediately brought back to AHS' Second Chance Animal Trauma HospitalTM where he was treated for several medical conditions including Tick Fever, Sarcoptic Mange, a heart murmur, and corneal damage to one of his eyes. After months of treatment Yukie was finally adopted in January, but sadly he was returned to our shelter this month after his new family could no longer care for him. Despite everything this little guy has been through, he remains as sweet as ever. He loves belly rubs and chin scratches. He's staying cozy in a sweater while he's here at AHS but he is waiting for the day he can cuddle up in someone's lap instead. Yukie has lived with other dogs in the past, but we always recommend a dog introduction first to make sure everyone gets along.AHS
