A woman attempting to parallel park her car in Prescott is accused of hitting an SUV and sending it downhill and into a church, according to a spokeswoman for the Prescott Police Department.
Police say the 89-year-old woman was attempting to park on a curb near the Prescott Public Library on Tuesday when she struck a parked SUV, a police spokesperson said. The SUV was sent rolling downhill towards the intersection of Goodwin and Marina streets.
According to police, the SUV rolled into Solid Rock Christian Church and broke a window.
The driver was uninjured but her passenger was treated for minor injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident but it is believed that the driver may have confused the gas and brake while attempting to park her car, the news release said.
