Authorities say two Kingman police officers have been cleared in a fatal shooting two months ago.

The Mohave County Attorney's Office determined the officers were justified in using deadly physical force.

Two policemen fired their duty weapons at a man who fired a gun at the officers on Sept. 29.

Authorities say 53-year-old Jeffrey Clair Cave of Kingman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police had gone to his home to execute a search warrant for a stolen firearm.

One policeman was wounded in the exchange of gunfire.

Police say the 17-year veteran officer was released from a hospital last month. The other officer escaped injury.

The Bullhead City Police Department's investigation of the shooting was submitted for review to the Mohave County Attorney's Office, which released its findings Monday.
