MCSO: Man beaten after confronting shooters

Officials are looking for the suspects who beat up a man and fired multiple rounds into his vehicle.

The incident happened near Interstate 17 and Table Mesa Road in New River on Tuesday morning.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, a man in his 50s lives in the area and heard people shooting near his house. He found three Hispanic men and one Hispanic woman shooting and confronted them.

As the suspects were leaving the scene, the victim followed the suspect’s vehicle to try and write down the license plate.

The suspects saw what the man was doing and stopped the vehicle. They were able to get the victim’s keys and cell phone.

At that point, one of the suspects fired eight to ten rounds into the victim’s Cadillac Escalade. The victim was able to get of the vehicle and was not hit by the bullets.

Before the suspects left they hit the victim over the head. They fled the scene in a white Ford Explorer with an Arizona license plate.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he received several stitches.
