Authorities say human remains found at a remote property near Wittmann are related to a Glendale kidnapping case.

Glendale police announced Wednesday that the link was found through forensic testing.

They say an autopsy is scheduled Thursday before the identity of the person and details of the case can be released.

Police say they knew the victim was kidnapped, but they did not know the person's fate until the remains were found. Multiple people were already arrested and charged with the kidnapping.

Authorities have not said when the kidnapping happened.

Wittmann Fire Department officials say a man was walking through a burned-down house Sunday and found a human skull.

He took it to the fire department and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was alerted.

Sheriff's detectives reported Monday that partial human remains were found in an old, abandoned shed on the Whispering Ranch property.

They say a pelvis and some smaller bones have been recovered, but not a complete skeleton.

Wittmann is located 35 miles northwest of Phoenix.
