An 11-year-old girl has passed away after being involved in an ATV accident the day before Thanksgiving.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called out to Wikieup around 3:30 p.m. near the Burro Creek Crossing area.
Deputies learned a 12-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl were riding on an ATV when they went into a shallow ditch. The ATV then struck a bank and flipped over.
Both girls were thrown from the ATV. The 12-year-old driver broke an arm, but the 11-year-old passenger suffered internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies do not believe speed played a factor in the crash.
