Police in Flagstaff are searching for answers after a small dog was found with its legs bound by duct tape in a wash.

According to police, on November 20 a person found a small gray and white dog in a wash near Butler Avenue and Milton Road. Police say the animal had all four legs bound by duct tape. The animal was unable to stand or walk.

Police say the person who located the animal said they heard an animal barking the previous night. They went to investigate on Sunday after hearing continuous barks that day.

Police say the animal was found at the bottom of a wash that was rising with water after snow and rain storms in the area.

Officials are investigating this animal cruelty case as they believe the animal was abandoned in the wash.

The animal is in good physical condition.
