Flagstaff police say a 19-year-old woman was hit and killed by a train on Saturday in Flagstaff.
Witnesses tell police that at the time of the crash two trains were passing in opposite directions at the crossing on Fanning Drive just north of Industrial Drive.
When the first train passed, Silynthia Austin and an unidentified man tried to run across the tracks in front of the second train. The man made it across, but unfortunately Austin didn’t.
Police say the crossing arms were down, and the lights were flashing at the intersection at the time of the crash.
