A car in Scottsdale ended up off of the road and inside a nail salon on Sunday afternoon, according to fire crews.

The Scottsdale Fire Department responded to calls of a vehicle inside a shopping center near 90th Street and Via Linda.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, a 72-year-old woman had an appointment with a business at the shopping center, but in the process of parking she accidentally placed her foot on the accelerator rather than on the brake pedal.

Fire officials said her car zoomed forward and came to a halt once inside the nail salon.

Crews said there were four employees and one customer inside the salon at the time of the collision. One employee received minor scratches, and there were no other injuries.

"It was just like a giant explosion, and it just sounded like glass rained down super hard, and it was kind of like a little bit of screams," Liam Lustig, who was at a Subway restaurant next door, said.

No citations were issued, police said.
