A new study says New York City is not the place to be on New Year's Eve.
Instead, according to WalletHub, Orlando, Fla. (1); San Francisco, Calif. (2); Atlanta (3); San Diego (4); and Scottsdale, Ariz. (5) are the cities to be in to ring in 2016.
The study compared 100 cities across 17 metrics, including cost of 3-star hotel, population, number of nightlife, luxury shopping and music venues--to formulate its list. It also looked at crime rate, chances of rain on New Year's Eve night and walkability.
Scottsdale ranked highest in Arizona at #5. Phoenix ranked at 29, Tucson at 43, Mesa at 68, Glendale tied for 69, Chandler at 71 and Gilbert at 88.
Just for fun, New York City ranked 25.
Fort Worth, Texas (96); Hialeah, Fla. (97); Jersey City, N.J. (98); Newark, N.J. (99); and North Las Vegas (100) rounded out the bottom five.
