PD: $900 fell from Scottsdale shoplifter's bra

Posted

A woman was arrested at the Barney's department store in Scottsdale after $900 fell out of her bra, according to police.

According to court documents, the store's loss prevention officer saw 48-year-old Rosalie Armida Salazar take a dress into the dressing room and came out without the dress last Sunday near Camelback and Scottsdale roads.

The officer then noticed the dress was missing from the store. He confronted Salazar outside the store, detained her and brought her back inside the store, paperwork shows.

When Scottsdale police arrived, Salazar was taken to the restroom where she was found to be wearing the stolen dress underneath her clothes.

As police had her take off the clothes and return the dress to Barney's, $900 in $20 bills fell out of her bra.

As police continued to search her, they found a driver's license, two credit cards and a check for $750 made out to "cash" belonging to another woman.

Salazar told police she found a wallet at the Maricopa County Superior Courthouse and the contents from the wallet.

She also admitted to writing and signing the check.

Salazar has an increasing history of shoplifting and theft and again faces charges of theft, forgery and identity theft.
