Gov. Ducey to address pro-business US lawmakers

Posted

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will be the keynote speaker at the opening day of a meeting of pro-business lawmakers from across the nation.

Ducey will address hundreds of lawmakers and business leaders at the American Legislative Exchange Council's policy summit in Scottsdale on Wednesday.

The group known as ALEC brings together lawmakers and big business backers who back limited government and craft model legislation and public policies that can be adopted in their home states.  Critics say ALEC is funded by big business as a way to influence lawmakers to enact legislation that helps corporations.

ALEC says it provides a forum for state legislators and business leaders to discuss practical, state-level public policy issues.

Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson will address the group on Friday.
