Two California men have been arrested in Arizona after their pickup truck was found loaded with about 100 items reported stolen from San Diego area homes.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers say 22-year-old Alberto Casillas of Chula Vista and 22-year-old Christopher Hernandez of Coronado were booked Wednesday into the Yuma County Jail on suspicion of drug possession with other charges pending.

DPS was called to the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 8 to assist with the investigation before San Diego police were contacted.

Police say some of the items in the pickup were identified as being stolen last Saturday in a residential burglary in which $45,000 in property was taken.

They say 15 additional burglaries in the San Diego area may be connected to the recovered property.
