Federal authorities have accused 11 people of supplying drug-trafficking scouts with food and equipment.

The Arizona Daily Star reports that according to a complaint in federal court in Tucson, the 11 people are accused of hauling radios, cellphones, batteries, solar panels, fuel, food, clothing and other items to the scouts, who wait in the southern Arizona mountains waiting to help guide drug and human smugglers.

According to a Feb. 22 indictment, the 11 people were arrested Feb. 3 on charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

The suppliers allegedly gathered goods at a variety of homes in Phoenix. Drivers then took the supplies to the Tohono O'Odham (toh-HO'-noh AH"-tuhm) Nation, where men wearing camouflage would collect the goods.
