A Superior man accused of shooting a 35-year-old man in late February and several others have been arrested during a high-risk warrant search.

On Feb. 28, a man in a Gilbert emergency room told officials that he had been shot in the stomach by a man he knew, identified as 49-year-old Joe Bribiescas.

Investigators found that the shooting occurred at a home in Superior and they obtained a search warrant once they learned Bribiescas was on the property.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said the property had several buildings and potential hazards for responding officers. Careful planning and safety measures by SWAT operators and PCSO helped keep them safe during the search.

When the operation was carried out on Friday, March 4, officials found and arrested Bribiescas.

Three others were also arrested at the time on various charges.

Raymond Bribiescas, the suspect's brother, was arrested on outstanding felony warrants. A woman, Christine Gomez, was arrested on two counts of drug paraphernalia possession after she was found with two meth pipes. Scott Gwin, who was also on the property, was arrested on a felony warrant from Maricopa County.
