The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is no longer searching for three missing hikers near the Barry M. Goldwater Air Force Range in southern Arizona.
MCSO initially believed the hikers may have been in distress, but they called off the search Wednesday night after determining there was no danger to the hikers.
Officials believe the three people may have been spotters who were trying to lure Border Patrol away from something else.
No further information was immediately available.
