Casa Grande Union High School students arrested after bringing gun to school

The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested two high school boys at Casa Grande Union High School around 9:40 a.m. Friday after police say the teenagers brought a handgun and ammunition to school.

The teens are 15 and 16 years old. 

According to police, the 15-year-old had a handgun in his backpack when he arrived to school; the gun was not loaded, but ammunition was found in the backpack.

Both teens had the handgun in their possession at one point, and the 16-year-old was in possession of it when police made the arrest.

Police report that the teens threatened another student at school; the details of the threat are unclear. 

Both students have been arrested and are being charged with threatening and misconduct of a weapon.
