Lance Corporal Carlos Segovia-Lopez, the 19-year-old U.S. Marine based at Camp Pendleton who was found shot in Los Angeles while on leave, has died.
A report by KABC in Los Angeles says the coroner's office received a call from the hospital at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting the death of Segovia-Lopez.
Segovia-Lopez was found suffering a gunshot to the head, covered in blood and slumped over the steering wheel of a Dodge Charger on 31st Street late Friday night.
Police say he had left the San Diego military installation earlier that day to visit friends and family for the weekend.
