Hillary Clinton reiterated warnings for Democratic candidates ahead of 2020 to be wary of interference in the election, following up on an editorial she wrote in the Washington Post earlier this week.

"We know that there is going to be continuing interference in line with what the Mueller report concluded about sweeping and systemic interference" Clinton said Saturday evening during "An Evening With The Clintons" event in Washington, DC.

"We know it happened and what we are hearing that it is going to happen again."

Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee for president, advised the 2020 candidates to keep their eyes focused.

"You could work your heart out, you could get the nomination, and there would still be factors that would undermine a legitimate election," she said.

Clinton also commented on how Russian interference came in many forms, often through social media, but included deep fakes, bots and trolls.

"I don't know how we combat that," she said, noting that people didn't know how effective it was in 2016.
