UPDATE: U.S. Marshalls found 37-year-old Daniel Miller in Phoenix on Friday. Tucson Police say he injured himself while trying to flee, but was taken into custody and transported to a local Phoenix hospital. Once he is released, he will be booked into jail on one count of first-degree murder and one count of domestic violence/attempted murder.
TUCSON, Ariz. - According to TPD, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of West Illinois Street just after 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
Upon arrival, officers located a man and women lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
TPD says the male victim was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. He has been identified as 54-year-old Michael Grove. The female victim is currently in critical/stable condition.
Detectives spoke with the woman at the hospital and witnesses at the scene. They were able to determine that Grove was visiting the woman when her ex-boyfriend, 37-year-old Daniel Miller arrived at the home.
Police say that Miller pulled out a handgun and shot both victims shortly after arriving. Miller then fled the scene in a dark-colored pick-up truck.
Detectives have obtained a felony arrest warrant for Miller for one count of first-degree murder and one count of domestic violence/attempted murder.
TPD says he should be considered armed and dangerous.
